MARITIME MEDICINE
The Maritime Medicine Department is built on a strong yet simple philosophy: providing maritime personnel with an environment that fosters medical excellence, respect, and trust.
From the beginning, we have paid special attention to having the best qualifications and skills and have made every effort to provide the best workspace, waiting area, and medical equipment.
With over 20 years of experience in the field, we conduct medical evaluations for seafarers in accordance with the standards set by the International Maritime Health Association (IMHA).
The Marine Medicine Department offers integrated and internationally accredited marine medical services, including clinical medical examinations for maritime personnel, maritime record management, and specific tests and investigations. All of these are performed by a team of over 20 specialist doctors with extensive experience in the field.
CERMED Clinic is an approved unit by the Ministry of Transport for conducting medical examinations for maritime personnel.
The Maritime Medicine Department serves approximately 50 crewing companies at its two approved locations, providing the following services:
- Medical visits required for obtaining/renewing a seafarer's certificate;
- International medical visits for seafarers in accordance with ILO (International Labour Organization) - MLC 2006 (Maritime Labour Convention) and IMO (International Maritime Organization) - STCW 2011;
- Medical visits for cruises: Carnival Cruise, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Crystal Cruises;
- Medical visits for flags: Liberia, Greece, Belgium, Malta, Bahamas, Panama, Singapore, Denmark, Hong Kong, France, Marshall Islands;
- Conducting stress tests, essential for seafarers over 45 years old;
- Performing specific COVID-19 medical tests (COVID-19 RT-PCR nasopharyngeal swab test or rapid COVID-19 test);
- Preparing medical reports for crew members disembarked for medical reasons from ships.
